Panthers Dig 4-Set Win Over Coyotes

KANSAS CITY, Missouri - The University of Northern Iowa volleyball team tied its school record for digs in a four-set match with 107 in a 3-1 victory over the South Dakota Coyotes at the Kangaroo Klassic.
UNI (7-2 overall) won by set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-27, 26-24. South Dakota falls to 3-5 on the year.
UNI's 107 digs tied the school record set at Creighton on Oct. 27, 2000. The Panthers had five players reach double-figures in digs against the Coyotes. Kendyl Sorge (25), Bri Weber (19), Taylor Hedges (19), Karlie Taylor (17) and Heather Hook (17) each ended the match with double-figure dig totals.
Taylor recorded her team-leading fifth double-double with 18 kills to go along with 17 digs. Weber notched her fourth double-double with 18 kills and 19 digs. Hook secured her third double-double with 55 assists and 17 digs.Â
Piper Thomas (18 kills) and Jaydlin Seehase (10 kills) each tallied double-figure kill totals against the Coyotes.
UNI will look to capture the Kangaroo Klassic title on Saturday when the Panthers take on the UMKC Kangaroos at 1:30 p.m.
