CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The No. 22-ranked University of Northern Iowa volleyball squad blistered the stat sheet on Friday with a season-best .398 hitting percentage in a 3-0 sweep of the Bradley Braves in the McLeod Center. UNI won by set scores of 25-14, 25-11, 25-12.
UNI (13-4 overall, 3-0 MVC) committed only eight attack errors to go alongside 43 kills in the three-set victory. Bradley (7-11 overall, 0-4 MVC) lost to UNI for the 24th consecutive time overall and for the 28th straight time in Cedar Falls.
Freshman Jaydlin Seehase put up some impressive numbers as she recorded 11 kills and a .625 hitting percentage. Seehase also tallied a career-high five blocks, including a pair of solo stops.
Junior Piper Thomas continued her red-hot play by securing 10 kills and no errors for a .667 hitting percentage. Thomas is hitting .402 in three league matches with 46 kills (seven errors) on 97 total attacks. Thomas snared a pair of solo blocks to up her career total to 63, which ranks No. 9 in UNI's all-time history.
Sophomore Karlie Taylor added 10 kills and a career-high three service aces in the triumph.
UNI will be back in action Saturday at 7 p.m. in the McLeod Center when the Panthers play host to the Illinois State Redbirds.
NOTES: UNI moved to 63-9 all-time against Bradley ... the Panthers won the first set for the 14th time this season and moved to 13-1 when winning the first set ... UNI moved to 676-9 all-time when capturing a 2-0 lead in a match.
