Haneline to Colorado for National Team Tryout

Former University of Northern Iowa volleyball player Kayla Haneline has been invited to take part in the U.S. Women's National Team Open Tryouts that will take place March 3-5 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Haneline, a middle hitter/blocker, is one of 244 athletes from 81 colleges and 10 high schools selected to try out for the U.S. Women's National team and the U.S. Collegiate National Team program.
Haneline (Plattsmouth, Neb.) led the Panthers to the NCAA Tournament for a second straight season and 20th time in program history. Haneline tallied a team-best .312 hitting percentage. She ranked second on the squad in kills (372) and blocks (103). She ranked third on the team in service aces (20). She secured a season-high 19 kills at Southern Illinois (Sept. 23). She posted 22 double-digit kill matches in 2016. Haneline is also a two-time first-team MVC Scholar-Athlete recipient. Haneline maintained a 3.59 GPA with a double major in biology and management. She was a three-time AVCA All-Region selection during her time as a UNI Panther.
The weekend will involve four sessions with three waves per session. All sessions of the tryout will be live streamed here. Fans can also follow on social media at @USAVolleyball and by using the hashtag #USAVTryout.
Three-time Olympic gold medalist and U.S. Olympic Hall of Famer Karch Kiraly will lead the tryout process. Selections will be made by the end of March.
