UNI Tops Saint Louis, 3-0

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The University of Northern Iowa volleyball team improved to 2-0 on a seaosn for the first time since 2011 with a 3-0 sweep of Saint Louis at the Michigan Invitational. UNI won by set scores of 25-20, 25-14, 25-17.
Senior Kayla Haneline recorded a .588 hitting percentage with 12 kills on 17 attacks. Haneline also added three block assists. Senior Amie Held and sophomore Bri Weber notched double-doubles as Held had 10 kills and 10 digs, while Weber secured 11 kills and 11 digs. Senior Lindsey Schulz topped the squad with five block assists.
UNI limited Saint Louis to less than .035 hitting percentage in the opening two sets. Saint Louis hit .024 in the first set and .033 in the second set. Meanwhile, UNI hit .212 in the opening set and .346 in the second set. The Panthers closed out the match by hitting .350 in the third set.
UNI will close out the Michigan Invitational by taking on the tournament host Michigan at 6:30 p.m. (CT) tonight. Michigan is also off to a 2-0 start to the season.
