WICHITA, Kan. - The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team saw its season come to an end Friday in the quarterfinals of the 2016 Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.

The No. 2-seeded Southern Illinois Salukis (15-11 overall) posted a 4-0 win over the Panthers (4-17 overall). The match was moved indoors to the Genesis East Health Club and the singles contests were played first.

At No. 6 singles, SIU's Polina Dozortseva defeated UNI's Savanna Hunt, 6-0, 6-1.

SIU's Cai Xiwei scored a 6-1, 6-1, win over UNI's Jieke Stroobant at No. 1 singles.

SIU's Meagan Monaghan posted a 6-4, 6-1, triumph over UNI's Astrid Santos at No. 3 singles.

The Salukis clinched the dual win at No. 5 singles with a 6-3, 6-4 victory from Katie Fries over UNI's Sydney Wolfe.
