CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa women's basketball team won its sixth straight contest on Sunday and senior Jen Keitel became the 23rd member of the school's 1,000-point club.

UNI (18-9 overall, 13-3 MVC) overcame a two-point halftime deficit to score a 63-52 win over the Loyola Ramblers (13-15 overall, 9-8 MVC). UNI's Madison Weekly scored a game-high 17 points.

Loyola held UNI in check in the first half by limiting the Panthers to 23.5 perfect field goal shooting. UNI made only four of its 20 first-half shots from beyond the three-point arc as the Ramblers held a 26-24 lead at the intermission.

UNI found its way in the third quarter as the Panthers outscored the Ramblers, 25-15, to take a 49-41 advantage into the fourth quarter. Keitel joined the 1,000-point club in the third quarter on a putback layup with 6:45 left in the quarter.

The Panthers pushed the lead back to double figures early in the fourth quarter on a jumper by senior Stephanie Davison with 8:34 on the clock. The Ramblers could not cut the deficit below double digits the rest of the way.

UNI will close the regular season next Thursday and Saturday with road trips to Southern Illinois (Thurs., 6 p.m.) and to Evansville (Sat., 12 p.m.)

NOTES: UNI honored its four seniors - Stephanie Davison, Jen Keitel, Sharnae Lamar and Amber Sorenson - prior to the game ... UNI moved to 5-3 all-time vs. Loyola ...
