Idaho countered with a 9-0 run, taking a 50-48 lead with 2:14 left to play in the third quarter. The Vandals were then able to convert on back-to-back layups to lead 54-50 to end the quarter.
The fourth quarter was a battle from the beginning with Schonhardt starting the quarter the way she started the game with a much needed three-pointer, cutting the Idaho lead to one. With four minutes remaining, Mikaela Morgan hit a crucial trey, tying the score 65-65 and after a layup from the Vandals, Weekly drilled home another three-pointer to take a one-point lead with 1:57 on the clock.
After another perfectly timed make from deep by Morgan with 29 seconds left in the game, Idaho was able to score a layup, tying the game 74-74. With the ball in UNI's hands and the shot clock turned off, the Panthers were able to get the ball into Maahs and with time winding down, the Epworth, Iowa, native scored a layup to give UNI its third win of the season.
