CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa volleyball squad secured its 20th win of the season with a 3-0 sweep of the Loyola Ramblers Friday night in the McLeod Center. UNI won by scores of 25-9, 25-16, 25-16.

UNI (20-8 overall, 11-4 MVC) committed a season-low six attack errors and hit .398 for the match. Bri Weber collected nine kills and hit .444 with 11 digs, while Amie Held notched nine kills with seven digs and a service ace. Heather Hook flirted with a triple-double and finished with 27 assists, nine digs and six kills. Kendyl Sorge tied a career-high with four service aces and secured a match-high 16 digs. Lindsey Schulz led the Panthers with a .571 hitting percentage as she had eight kills and no attack errors on the night.

The Panthers used a 10-0 run to take control of the opening set. Loyola held a 3-1 lead only to see the Panthers score the next 10 straight points to take an 11-3 advantage. UNI would not let up and cruised to a 25-9 opening-set victory. UNI hit .591 with 13 kills and no attack errors in the first set. UNI also posted an 80-percent sideout effort.

UNI kept the pressure on in the second set and used an 8-0 run to take a 20-10 lead. UNI limited Loyola to an .057 hitting percentage with eight kills and six attack errors in the second set. UNI hit .267 with 12 kills and made four attack errors.

UNI finished off the three-set win with a 25-16 victory in the third set. The Panthers used a 9-0 to turn a 9-8 lead into a comfortable 17-8 advantage. UNI managed 16 kills and only two attack errors while hitting .389 in the third set.

The Panthers will be back in action Saturday at 7 p.m. against the Bradley Braves. UNI will honor its five seniors prior to the match vs. the Braves.

NOTES: UNI moved to 14-0 all-time vs. Loyola ... head coach Bobbi Petersen is 10-0 all-time vs. the Ramblers ... UNI's .398 hitting percentage is its second-highest mark of the season (.403 vs. Evansville on Sept. 24, 2016) ... it marks the 34th 20-win season in the program's storied history.
