VERMILLION, SD - The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team was held scoreless for the second straight road game over the weekend, falling to South Dakota 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.
The Panthers (4-4-3) kept the Coyotes off the board for the first 75 minutes of the contest before surrendering the lone goal to Danielle Anderson with less than 14 minutes remaining.
Sarah Brandt led the UNI attack throughout the game, attempting three shots with all landing on target from the midfield. Freshman Brynell Yount added one shot on goal while Annie Dale and Hannah McDevitt combined for three shots.
"(We) created enough chances to win the game but we lost concentration at the wrong moments," said UNI Head Coach James Price. "We will have to figure out how to be harder to beat on the road as we enter conference play."
UNI will get a five-day break before they begin Missouri Valley Conference play 5 p.m. Saturday against Missouri State in Springfield, Mo.
