UNI SETS MVC WIN TOTAL MARK
For the first time in school history UNI has achieved 16 MVC wins in single season. UNI's previous best of 15 MVC wins was set in 2009-10.
16 STRAIGHT WINS IN THE MVC
UNI set its school record for most consecutive Missouri Valley Conference victories at 16 in a row. The 16 straight MVC victories for UNI this season tied for the 13th-longest streak in league history.
16 IS NOT ENOUGH THIS YEAR
Prior to the 2014-15 season, any MVC team winning 16 or more league games captured the regular season title.
However, this year UNI's 16 wins came up one victory short of MVC regular season champion Wichita State's 17 league victories.
The previous mark for best win total by a second-place MVC team came in the 2002-03 season when Creighton posted a 15-3 league mark. The Bluejays settled for second place behind MVC winner Southern Illinois (16-2).
UNI'S RESUME IS LOOKING GOOD
UNI is 30-3 on the season with all three losses coming on the road. UNI lost in double-overtime at VCU (No. 15 in NCAA RPI), suffered a three-point loss at Evansville (No. 119 in NCAA RPI) and dropped its regular season finale at Wichita State (No. 17 in NCAA RPI).
UNI has posted a 15-3 mark in road/neutral games. UNI has won at Stephen F. Austin, at Denver, at Drake, at Bradley, at Illinois State, at Southern Illinois, at Indiana State, at Missouri State and at Loyola. The Panthers have neutral court victories over Bradley, Loyola, Illinois State, Virginia Tech, Northwestern and Iowa.
UNI is ranked No. 14 in the latest NCAA RPI.
PLENTY OF EXPERIENCE
UNI returns 10 letterwinners and all five starters for the 2014-15 season.
UNI returns 91.2 percent of its scoring and 91.4 percent of its rebounding from last season - when factoring in only MVC games, UNI returns 94.1 percent of its MVC scoring from a year ago.
UNI possesses the oldest roster in the Missouri Valley Conference heading into the 2014-15 season. UNI's average age on Nov. 15 was 20.53 years. Bradley is second in the MVC at 20.47 years.
PANTHERS TIE ROAD RECORD
UNI tied a school record with its seventh consecutive road win on Feb. 18 at Loyola.
