
UNI Drains 12 3-Pointers In 83-64 Win Over Illinois State

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa won its 12th straight game with an 83-64 victory over the Illinois State Redbirds on Wednesday.
UNI (23-2 overall, 12-1 MVC) also captured its 16th straight home win in the McLeod Center.UNI has equaled its best start in school history - matching the 1963-64 team that also started 23-2.
UNI drained a season-high 12 3-pointers and was led by senior Seth Tuttle's 23 points.
Illinois State dropped its second consecutive game and fell to 15-10 overall, 7-6 in the Missouri Valley Conference. The Redbirds were led by Daishon Knight's 16-point performance.
The Panthers scored a season-high 50 points in the first half in racing out to a 50-33 lead. UNI would push the advantage to as many as 25 points in the second half at 83-58 with 5:06 remaining.
UNI will travel to Missouri State to take on the Bears on Sunday at 3 p.m. The Panthers and Bears will meet at JQH Arena on ESPNU.
NOTES: Deon Mitchell was a perfect 4-for-4 from 3-point land and scored 12 points ...
