Loyola put the lone goal on the scoreboard in the 82nd minute as Avalon Senn-Raemont got one by UNI goalkeeper Whitney Blunt off the pass from Jenna Szczesny. Blunt finished with five saves on the night to give her a career-best 91 on the season.
"We battled really hard and I was pleased with the effort and intensity in such an important game," said UNI Head Coach James Price. "It wasn't a pretty soccer game but they rarely are at this stage of the season."
With an Indiana State loss this evening, the Panthers have qualified for the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. UNI will play on Sunday, Nov. 1 and the time has not yet been determined.
