UNI Sweeps Loyola, 3-0

CHICAGO, Ill. - The University of Northern Iowa volleyball squad moved into a tie for second place in the Missouri Valley Conference standings with a 3-0 sweep of the Loyola Ramblers on Tuesday at Gentile Arena. UNI won by set scores of 25-14, 25-19, 26-24.
UNI (12-10 overall, 6-3 MVC) won its third consecutive match on the season and improved to 11-0 all-time vs. Loyola with the sweep. Loyola fell to 17-5 overall and 6-3 in the league. It was the first 3-0 loss by Loyola since Aug. 29 when the Northwestern Wildcats shut out the Ramblers.
The Panthers were led by Kayla Haneline with 11 kills and four blocks. Setter Heather Hook tallied a match-high 35 assists. Kendyl Sorge and Amie Held tied for team-best honors with nine digs.Â
UNI enjoyed a 6-0 advantage in service aces.
The Panthers will take to the floor again Friday at Evansville (6 p.m.) and Saturday at Southern Illinois (4 p.m.)
