OPENING TIP

• UNI (6-0 overall) returns home to the McLeod Center to take on the Richmond Spiders (2-2 overall) on Sunday at 2 p.m.

• Senior forward Seth Tuttle was named the MVP of the 2014 Cancun Challenge after leading UNI to the title. Tuttle averaging 15.3 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 2.3 apg and shooting 64.5 percent from the field in the four games.

• Junior guard Wes Washpun was also named to the Cancun Challenge All-Tournament Team.

• UNI 's 6-0 start matches the school's best NCAA Division I start, which came in the 1999-2000 season.

• The last time UNI began a season 7-0 came in the 1963-64 season, when UNI was an NCAA Division II school. Head coach Norm Stewart led the 1963-64 Panthers to a final mark of 23-4.

LAST TIME OUT

• UNI won the 2014 Cancun Challenge with a 61-42 win over Northwestern in the title game.

• The Panthers were led by senior forward Seth Tuttle's 19-point scoring effort and senior forward Marvin Singleton's nine-rebound performance. Nate Buss joined Tuttle in double figures with 11 points.

• UNI used a 17-0 run to open up a 31-18 lead just prior to halftime to seize control of the contest.

PLENTY OF EXPERIENCE
UNI returns 10 letterwinners and all five starters for the 2014-15 season.
   UNI returns 91.2 percent of its scoring and 91.4 percent of its rebounding from last season - when factoring in only MVC games, UNI returns 94.1 percent of its MVC scoring from a year ago.
   UNI possesses the oldest roster in the Missouri Valley Conference heading into the 2014-15 season. UNI's average age on Nov. 15 was 20.53 years. Bradley is second in the MVC at 20.47 years.

BEST DIVISION I START IN SCHOOL HISTORY
UNI's 6-0 start ties it for the best NCAA Division I start in school history. UNI also began the 1999-2000 season under Sam Weaver with a 6-0 mark.

LOOKING TO STRETCH IT TO SEVEN
With a victory Sunday vs. Richmond, UNI would start a season 7-0 for the first time since the 1963-64 season.
   In 1963-64, UNI was under the guidance of head coach Norm Stewart. Stewart led the Panthers to a 23-4 mark that season.
   Stewart coached at UNI from 1961-1967 and posted a coaching record of 97-42 before moving on to become the head coach of the Missouri Tigers, where he eventually tallied 728 total wins as a college head coach.

SEARCHING FOR A 7-0 START
UNI is looking to start a season 7-0 for only the fourth time in school history. The previous three times it occurred came in 1922-23, 1924-25 and 1963-64.

PANTHERS CLAIM 3RD MTE TITLE
UNI claimed its third Multi-Team Event (MTE) championship under head coach Ben Jacobson by winning the 2014 Cancun Challenge in Cancun, Mexico.
   UNI scored wins in Cancun over the ACC's Virginia Tech Hokies, 73-54, and the Big Ten's Northwestern Wildcats, 61-42.
   UNI won the 2010 Las Vegas Classic with victories over Indiana and New Mexico on a neutral floor.
   The Panthers captured the 2011 South Padre Island Invitational with wins over Rice and Providence on a neutral floor.

PANTHERS PRETTY DEFENSIVE
UNI is allowing 54.5 points per game and has out-rebounded five of its six opponents. UNI is enjoying a +3.8 rebounding margin per game this season.
   Outside of Stephen F. Austin scoring 77 points in overtime against UNI, the Panthers have not allowed any other opponent to score more than 54 points this season.
   In its last four games, UNI is allowing 49.5 points per game.

TUTTLE EARNS TOURNEY MVP STATUS
UNI senior forward Seth Tuttle was named the MVP of the 2014 Cancun Challenge.
   Over the four-game tournament, Tuttle averaged 15.3 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 2.3 apg and shot 64.5 percent from the field.

WASPHUN EARNS ALL-TOURNEY TEAM HONORS
Junior guard Wes Washpun was also named to the Cancun Challenge All-Tournament team.
   Washpun averaged 9.3 ppg and handed out 3.0 apg while shooting 66.7 percent from the field in the tournament.

HIGH PERCENTAGE PLAYERS
UNI's Wes Washpun and Seth Tuttle have been incredibly efficient on the offensive end of the floor to start the season.
   Washpun is shooting 67.6 percent from the floor and averaging 10.5 points per game. Washpun has made at least three field goals in all six games this season.
   Tuttle is shooting 67.3 percent from the field and is averaging a team-best 16.3 points per game. Tuttle is the only Panther to have reached double-figure scoring in every game this season. Tuttle has reached double-figure scoring in 23 consecutive games heading into Sunday's game vs. Richmond.

MARVIN OWNS THE BOARDS
Senior forward Marvin Singleton has registered at least six rebounds in every game this season. Singleton leads the Panthers in rebounding this year at 7.2 caroms per contest.
   Singleton grabbed nine rebounds in both games in Cancun against Virginia Tech and Northwestern.
   He has also registered at least two offensive rebounds in each game.

UNFAZED FRESHMAN
True freshman Wyatt Lohaus has recorded a made field goal in each of his first six collegiate games. He is one of three Panthers to have made a field goal in every game this season (Seth Tuttle, Wes Washpun).
   Lohaus has committed only one turnover in 102 minutes of action this season.
   Lohaus helped guide Iowa City West High School to three consecutive state championships in his final three seasons as a prep player. He posted a high school record of 95-9 at Iowa City West.

MITCHELL CLOSING IN ON 1,000 PTS
Senior guard Deon Mitchell will look to become UNI's 38th 1,000-point scorer this season.
   Mitchell has scored 983 points in 106 career games heading into Sunday's game vs. Richmond.
   Mitchell would also become the 13th Panther to join the 1,000-point club since the start of the 2001-02 season - the first season that Ben Jacobson joined the coaching staff as an assistant. Jacobson took over the head job in the 2006-07 season.

TUTTLE IN RARE COMPANY
Seth Tuttle is one of five active NCAA Division I players to have scored 1,000 points, grabbed 500 rebounds, have a FG% of 50 percent or higher and have made 20 3-pointers.
   Tuttle is joined on the list by Radford's Javonte Green, Iowa's Aaron White, St. Francis (N.Y.)'s Jalen Cannon and Northeastern's Scott Eatherton.

TUTTLE HAS MADE EVERY START
Senior forward Seth Tuttle has started all 107 games of his UNI career. Tuttle ranks T-No. 6 at UNI in games started.
   With his next start vs. Richmond on Sunday, Tuttle would move into solo sixth-place on UNI's all-time starts list - surpassing Randy Kraayenbrink, Dale Turner and Kwadzo Ahelegbe.
   Johnny Moran holds the UNI record for games started with 135 from 2008-2012.

WINNING TRADITION AT MCLEOD
UNI has registered an all-time mark of 101-28 (.783) in games played in the McLeod Center.
   UNI posted a school-record best 16 home wins in the 2012-13 season. The previous mark of 15 home wins was set in the 1989-90 season.
   UNI has posted a pair of perfect home seasons since moving to NCAA Division I. UNI was a perfect 14-0 in the 1983-84 and the 2009-10 seasons.
   UNI set its home win streak of 21 consecutive victories between the 2008-09 and 2010-11 seasons.
   The McLeod Center was completed in November 2006.

THE UNDER 50 CLUB
When UNI held the Northwestern Wildcats to 42 points in the Panthers's win on Nov. 26, 2014, it marked the 32nd time in the Ben Jacobson head coaching era that the Panthers had held a team under 50 points. UNI is 31-1 in those contests.
   UNI has won 24 straight games when holding the opposition to less than 50 points.
