Illinois State Knocks UNI Out of MVC Tourney, 73-65

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Illinois State scored a 73-65 victory over the University of
Northern Iowa Panther men's basketball team in the quarterfinals of the
2013 Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.
Illinois State led 26-11 with 9:21 left in the first half. UNI went on a 16-2 run to cut the lead to 28-27 with 4:08 left in the half. UNI closed the half on a 24-8 run to take a 35-34 at the intermission.
UNI trailed 60-50 with 7:03 left in the game before making another charge. UNI cut the lead to 62-60 with 4:17 left on a pair of free throws from senior guard Marc Sonnen.
Illinois State was led by Tyler Brown's game-high 28 points.
UNI was led in scoring by Sonnen with 16 points. Senior guard Anthony James added 15 points.
UNI is 18-14 on the season.
