UNI scored in the fifth minute when freshman Sarah McHugh hit a service following a Drake foul. McHugh's pass found senior Kiki McClellan in the box and the senior buried the shot in the left side of the net for the score.
Just after the score Drake capitalized on a Panther miscue. UNI kicked the ball off of their own player and the ball ended up in the back of the net, knotting the score at one. The game would remain at 1-1 after 110 minutes of play.
Senior Melissa Hagan fired six shots in the match while fellow senior Kiki McClellan hit four shots with two on goal, including the only score in the match for the Panthers. Junior Claire Clark tallied two shots with one on goal, sophomore Caitlyn Fuller recorded two shots, and freshman Katie Witt put both of her shots on goal in the match. Sophomore Shauna Happel added a shot in the match while freshmen Maggie Riley and Sarah McHugh both put a shot on goal for UNI.
UNI amassed 21 shots in the match and put seven of them on goal. The Panthers held the Bulldogs to just nine shots in the match with two on goal, including the own goal score. Drake held the advantage in corner kicks, seven to six.
Junior goalkeeper Erin Zaideman posted one save in the match while allowing zero Bulldog shots to reach the net.
