UNI Volleyball Ranked No. 21 in Preseason AVCA Poll

The University of Northern Iowa volleyball team is ranked No. 21 in the 2012 American Volleyball Coaches Association Preseason Top 25 poll.
UNI posted a 33-2 mark a season ago and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Panthers have won three straight Missouri Valley Conference regular season and tournament titles. UNI was ranked No. 18 in the final 2012 AVCA poll.
The Panthers return four starters and a libero from last year's squad. UNI will get the 2012 season underway Aug. 24-25 at Mortar Board Premier Tournament hosted by Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind. UNI will take on Purdue in the season opener Aug. 24. UNI will also match up against Pittsburgh (Aug. 25) and George Washington (Aug. 25) in the tourney.
UNI's home-opening match of the 2012 season is set for Sept. 11 against Northern Illinois in the McLeod Center.
