
Illinois State Gets the Best of the Panthers

CEDAR FALLS, Ia.- The University of Northern Iowa swim and dive team was defeated by the Illinois State Redbirds 182-110 Saturday afternoon at the Glen F. Henry Pool in Cedar Falls.
Freshman Taylor Ostrowski had the lone first place finish for the Panthers on the day. She won the 200 butterfly in a time of 2:11.80. Ostrowski also finished fourth in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:23.58. Senior Bethany Hovland finished second in the 3-meter diving with a score of 286.95, a career best for her.
Sierra Sachtjen finished second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:59.00. Natalie Johnson took the runner up spot in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:14.18. Lindsey Phelps also had a second place finish in the 100 butterfly 1:01.09. Phelps had a third place finish in the 100 freestyle as well with a time of 55.50.
The Panthers will be back in the pool next Friday the 9th when they travel to Omaha, Nebraska, to go up against the University of Nebraska-Omaha at 5:30 p.m.
