UNI Posts McLeod Center Record 103 Points in Win

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa set a McLeod Center scoring record with 103 points in its season-opening 103-50 win over Wartburg College.
UNI's Deon Mitchell scored a game-high 18 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the floor. Mitchell dished out a game-high six assists as well.
UNI used a 27-0 run in the second half to take a 92-35 lead with 7:33 left in the game.
UNI will play host to Toledo on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the McLeod Center.
NOTES: UNI set McLeod Center records for points (103), field goals made (40) ... the Panthers also set a UNI record for highest 3-point shooting percentage by the Panthers in the McLeod Center (61.9 percent - 13-of-21) vs. the Knights ... it was the 38th time in school history that UNI reached the 100-point plateau - and the first time since Dec. 21, 1997, vs. Chicago State ... the 103 points tied for the 20th-highest scoring output in school history ... the 53-point winning margin is the third-highest total in school history ... it's the third time UNI has reached the 100-point scoring mark vs. Wartburg ... Jake Koch set a career high with 13 rebounds ... Marvin Singleton set career highs in scoring (14) and rebounding (8) ... Matt Morrison tied his career high in scoring with 14 ... Chip Rank's streak of 12 straight games with a made 3-pointer was snapped as he went 0-for-1 from three-point territory.
