Senior Missy Journot capitalized on a free kick in the 64th minute from just outside of the top of the box and put it past the Evansville goalkeeper for the score.
The UNI offense tallied 19 shots with 10 coming on goal. Junior Melissa Hagan led the way with five shots with one coming on goal. Sophomore Claire Clark put all three of her shots on goal, Journot landed both of her shots on goal and senior Kala Negus added three shots with one on goal for the Panthers.
Freshmen Nicole Rondeau, Caitlyn Fuller and Madisen Garman each recorded a shot on goal for UNI, while junior Kiki McClellan added two shots and sophomore Allie Brees tallied one shot for the Panthers.
UNI sophomore goalkeeper Erin Zaideman recorded her third shutout on the season blocking four Evansville shots in the match.
The Panthers outshot Evansville 19-11, held the advantage in shots on goal, 10-4, and corner kicks, 5-3.
The win gave UNI their third win in as many tries. The last time UNI had a three game winning streak was during the 03-04 season when the Panthers won four in a row to start the season.
The win gave UNI head coach James Price his 100th career victory.
UNI will travel to South Dakota to face off with the University of South Dakota Coyotes on Mon., Oct. 17. Kick off is slated for 4:00 p.m.
