IOWA CITY, IOWA -- The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team was unable to match Central Michigan's offensive attack, losing 2-0 at the Iowa Tournament on Friday evening.
Liesel Toth scored in the 43rd minute to put Central Michigan in front 1-0 shortly before halftime. CMU stretched the lead to 2-0 in the 71st minute with a goal off the crossbar from Nicole Samuel.
The Chippewas outshot UNI 29-6. Junior goalkeeper Lauren Potzman recorded seven saves for the Panthers.
UNI freshman Claire Clark registered two shots in the contest, with one being on-goal.
The Panthers will return to action against Northern Illinois in Iowa City on Sun., Aug. 29, at 11:00 a.m.
