
UNI Rolls by Indiana State, 71-46, to Open MVC Play

UNI (8-4 overall, 1-0 MVC) was led by senior center Lizzie Boeck. Boeck tallied 20 points and pulled in 16 rebounds, with 14 of those points coming in the second half. It was Boeck's seventh game this season in which she scored 15 or more points.
Junior guard K.K. Armstrong added 10 points and seven rebounds.
The Panthers held
The Panthers used two large runs – one in each half – to distance themselves from the Sycamores.
UNI took an early 5-0 lead with a three-pointer from K.K. Armstrong to take a 25-14 lead.
UNI held the Sycamores to 7-of-25 shooting in the first half to hold a 32-26 margin at halftime.
The Panthers pulled away in the second half, thanks to a 16-1 run that spanned more than five minutes – from the 15:10 mark until 9:48 left in the game. Including that stretch, UNI outscored the Sycamores 28-5 over 12 minutes of the second half.
Sophomore Mercedees Morgan keyed the Panther run with six consecutive points coming on a traditional three-point play and a three-pointer at the 13:43 mark to stretch the margin to 14.
Sophomore Amber Kirschbaum reeled in seven rebounds to help UNI to a 47-41 advantage on the boards.
