Women's Swim Team Falls Short to the University of Iowa, 127-76

The UNI Women's swim team fell short to the University of Iowa. The Panthers lost to the Hawkeyes, 127-76, Thursday evening at the Wellness Recreational Pool.
The Panthers received two first-place finishes in the dual. Ashley Hunter was first with a time of 1:58.67.
Abby Girard took third and fourth in the 400-yard IM. Josie finished with a time of 4:40.07, just four one-hundredths of a second behind the second place finisher. Girard clocked in at 4:41.29.
Caitlin Krengel and Maegan Miller took second through fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke. Their times were 1:08.49, 1:11.88 and 1:14.05, respectively.
The 200-yard medley relay team of Abby Girard, Maggie Rickert and Alexa Armstrong finish third with a time of 1:52.92.
Ashley Hunter finished in second in the 100-yard freestyle. Her time was 54.58. Teammate Josie Itzen finished behind her with a time of 55.06.
UNI took second through fifth in the 500-yard freestyle. Kelly Mateas and Anna Jovanovic finished behind Hartman with times of 5:23.50, 5:24.93 and 5:38.53, respectively.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Ashley Hunter, Maggie Rickert and Josie Itzen finished second, clocking in at 3:38.99.
The Panthers next action will be at the MVC Championships. The meet will take place Feb. 12-14 in Carbondale, Illinois.
