On finishing out the season:
“We're on the right track right now. We got a lot of work to do yet, but we're heading in the right direction. We need to finish strong.”
On rebounding from the Creighton loss:
“We had a great sense of urgency within the team. We knew we needed to just get back on track and focus on Southern Illinois.”
On wearing down Southern Illinois with a fast-paced game:
“It was a smart thing to do, it makes plenty of sense. It wasn't our primary goal, but we knew it would help since they only had eight guys dressed.”
On Adam Rodenberg and Lucas O'Rear's play tonight:
“They are both blue collar type players. They are always working hard, going after loose balls, taking charges and what not. They really bring a lot to our team. “
On overall play against SIU:
“We played with a sense of urgency tonight. We knew we needed to play as a team not as individuals. We just really want to be playing our best ball at the end of the season.”
On his play against SIU:
“I knew I needed to work on going to the basket stronger and just getting at the hoop more. I've been settling sometimes for the fadeaway and they haven't been going down so I knew I needed to get inside.”
On winning the conference title:
“We don't really focus on it. We take it one day and one game at a time. Tomorrow we'll focus on Wichita State. We don't think about the championship, just our next game.”
On balanced scoring:
“Some guys don't score every night, that just happens with our team. Our versatility is very good. It's not just our five starters, but extends into our bench. All eight guys have the ability to score any night.”
On Kwadzo's play after Creighton loss:
“After the loss to Creighton Kwadzo really responded well and came in ready to practice Monday. He brought the energy we needed to practice. I think that really shows how he's grown over the past year and a half. What he did on and off court was exactly what we needed.”
Southern Illinois Coach Chris Lowry
On UNI's play:
“They were discplined and we weren't. Bringing a young team to the team that is in first place we needed to play tough and we broke down. Our guys complained and UNI played. UNI is a very disciplined team. They can go anywhere and win. They were just ready to play tonight and we weren't.”
On SIU's play:
“We just didn't capitalize on opportunities. Their reserve players killed us. They were disciplined and ready to play. We weren't.
