
Drake Outlasts Panthers, 2-1

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team's rally came up short Thursday evening falling 2-1 to Drake. Kala Negus scored the Panthers lone goal, taking a pass from Nicole Ferlito. The Bulldogs struck first, scoring the game's first goal in the 15th minute when Laura Moklestad took a pass from Crystal Townley to find the back of the net. The Bulldogs extended their lead to 2-0 in the 69th minute when Elizabeth Woerle scored. The Panthers pulled the game to within a goal in the 81st minute when Negus scored, but the Drake defense held strong to seal the win for the Bulldogs. Goalkeeper Lauren Potzman finished the night with four saves. The Panthers return to action Oct. 14 when they host Illinois State. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
