Cepeda Wins NACAC Decathlon

Toluca, Mexico - Former University of Northern Iowa All-American Raven Cepeda won the North American-Central American (NACAC) U23 decathlon championship, held July 19-20.
This was Cepeda's first international competition, after completing his collegiate eligibility in June with an All-America showing in the decathlon at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
On his way to the meet title with 7,504 points, Cepeda posted personal bests in both the 400 meters (50.67) as well as the long jump (22'10). Those results were all the more impressive, considering that Toluca is located at 8,700 feet elevation.
