UNI-Missouri State Quotes
Missouri State Head Coach Terry Allen
On the three quick drops to start the game and if the offense missing is missing its swagger
"The drops didn't help, but you have to give credit to Northern Iowa they have a great defense. Obviously we are a little banged up. It was a long day and they are so well coached."
On if it is tough to swallow a loss to his former school
"Two years ago when I came back it wasn't fun at all. Today, other then getting demolished on the field it was enjoying to come back. The people here are very generous and kind to me. However, it was an embarrassing performance by us to have less than 100 yards and all the points we gave up."
On teams overall performance
"I was very pleased with how our team performed. I think the senior thing did affect us and our seniors wanted to play well today."
On the defenses performance
"I looked at the sheet at halftime and was somewhat stunned at what I saw. Our pass rush was excellence today and we were only rushing four guys all day. Our defensive line was just very good."
On how difficult it was to bring Pat Grace back in the starting lineup
"You didn't want to bring Pat too early and that was part of the stress of this week. I thought Pat deserved to start because of how he performed earlier in the season and we felt he was ready to go today."
On if the Panthers beat Indiana State to clinch at least a share of back to back conference titles
"That's huge and we haven't gone back to back in a long time, and this staff has never won back to back conference titles."
UNI quarterback Pat Grace
On playing after sitting out the last two weeks.
"It felt pretty good to get back out there. It took me a couple series to finally get back in the swing of things, but I thought the offensive line played great today."
On if he is 100 percent healthy.
"Not quite yet, but I feel I am pretty close back to 100 percent. We have an awesome training staff and I feel a lot better."
On sliding for the first time of the season to avoid a big hit.
"I figured people were going to come after my knee so the coaches have been telling me that it is ok to just pick up a few yards and slide, so I did."
UNI linebacker James Ruffin
On Missouri State's offensive numbers
"I don't even know what their numbers even are, but we shut them out and it feels pretty good."
UNI running back Corey Lewis
On only being 200 yards from being UNI's career rushing leader
"It would definitely be nice to get the record, but like I've said before I'm just trying to help this team to win. It's definitely a goal, but the team is the most important thing right now."
