Evansville Tops Panthers 3-0

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team fell in Missouri Valley Conference play Saturday evening as Evansville scored a 3-0 win over the Panthers in Evansville, Ind.
The Purple Aces scored all three goals in the first period, the first goal coming at the 10:53 minute-mark. Nicole Moyen scored on an 18-yard shot that flew past the left side of Panther goal keeper Lauren Potzman. Mia Tofano scored her 11th goal of the season in the seventeenth minute on a rebound shot. Kayla Lambert added the Aces third goal in the 26th minute, scoring on a shot from 6 yards out.
Jana Teague and Laura Heaton led the way for the Panther offense, each taking two shots. Lauren Potzman finished the game with nine saves.
UNI has two weeks off before hosting Creighton in the Panthers final game of the season on Oct. 30 at the Mark Messersmith Track and Field Complex on UNI's campus. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
