Panthers Fall 3-1 to Drake

WATERLOO, Iowa – After winning three out of the Panthers last four games, and holding a two-game winning streak; Drake put an end to the Panthers winning streak and hopes of a conference victory with a 3-1 win over the Panthers Wednesday evening at the Cedar Valley Youth Soccer Complex.
Drake took an early 2-0 lead in the first half, scoring its first goal at the 21:44 minute-mark. Elizabeth Woerle took a pass from Abi Dodds to put the Bulldogs up 1-0. Drake extended the lead to 2-0 in the 39th minute when Crystal Townley scored off a pass from Karissa Brown.
UNI pulled within 2-1 at the 52:46 minute-mark when Kala Negus scored her first goal of the season off a Laura Heaton pass.
Drake added the final goal of the night at the 83:03 minute-mark when Daneille Figliola took a pass from Bailey Dorrington.
UNI (3-10-1, 0-2 MVC) heads to UW-Green Bay for a non-conference match-up with the Phoenix Saturday afternoon. The game is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
