On what it means to defeat
"As a UNI alum, and going through all the years I was a player, an assistant coach and being the head coach of some of these teams that we've brought down here, it just makes you so proud. To look up on the hill and see all of those people and the fans and the players that come down on the field. They have been waiting years for this. That's what makes it special."
On fourth-down conversion for touchdown in the second quarter:
"We came here to win. When we called that timeout, I knew what I wanted to do, but it had to be the players. I asked them if they wanted to do this and there was no question that they wanted to go for it. Offense called a great play. The slant was open and Victor (Williams) made a nice catch."
