
Panthers Fall 69-41 at Iowa State

The teams traded baskets through the first six minutes of play, with neither team claiming more than a one-possession lead until a basket from Kelsey Bolte put the Cyclones (8-1) in front 12-7 at the 14-minute mark.
Jacqui Kalin pulled the Panthers (4-5) back within three with a jump shot on UNI's ensuing possession, but the Cyclones scored eight unanswered points over the next four minutes to build a 20-9 lead with 9:10 to play in the period.
Kalin ended the Panther drought with a pair of free throws at 8:48 that brought UNI within nine, 20-11.
A free throw from ISU's Amanda Nisleit gave the Cyclones a 10-point lead, but Lizzie Boeck hit a turn-around jumper to cut the Panthers' deficit to eight with 5:27 on the clock.
Bolte hit a pair of free throws, and Lacey hit a three off an ISU offensive rebound to give the Cyclones a 26-13 lead with 4:20 on the clock.
Iowa State built a 34-17 lead with 35 seconds left, but Traci Ollendieck connected from long range with 13 seconds on the clock to send UNI into the locker room trailing 34-20.
Kalin scored right out of the gate for UNI to pull the Panthers within 12, but Wieben scored on consecutive trips to extend ISU's lead to 38-22. Kalin accounted for the Panthers' first nine points of the second half, however Iowa State was able to continue to build its lead, taking a 52-29 lead with 11:43 on the clock.
The Panthers were never able to cut the Cyclone lead to less than 22 from that point on, and ISU led by as many as 28 points on the way to the win.
