The Panthers came out of the gates with new life and spent the majority of the first 10 minutes of the second period in Creighton territory. UNI missed a crucial scoring opportunity in the 38th minute after Creighton goalkeeper Kristen Casey wandered from the box to chase an errant shot that fell short of the goal. Gans added to the Creighton lead and her conference-best goal total with another goal in the 67th minute. Gans' 10th goal of the season gave Creighton a 2-0 lead over the Panthers with just over 20 minutes remaining in the contest. The Creighton defense held, and the Panthers fell 2-0.
