Cold First Half Dooms Panthers in Exhibition Loss

The Panthers shot just 28 percent (9-of-32) from the floor in the first half. Meanwhile the Coyotes seemed unable to miss, hitting 47 percent (16-of-34) of their first-half shots, including 6-of-12 (50 percent) from three-point range.

Kalin scored at the 11-minute mark in the first half to give UNI a 16-12 lead. The Panthers shot just 1-of-14 from the floor over the next 9:40, while the Coyotes shot 12-of-17 over that span to go on a 30-3 run and build a 42-19 lead.
The Panthers scored the last four points of the period to go into the break trailing 42-23.
UNI was never able to cut the deficit to less than 19 points in the second half on the way to the loss.
