
Volleyball Wins Sixth Straight

Peoria, Ill. - Four University of Northern Iowa volleyball players reached double-digits in kills as the Panthers swept Bradley this afternoon for its sixth straight victory. Game scores were 30-20, 30-15 and 30-18.
Shannon Aschoff (Ankeny, Iowa) led the way for UNI with 14 kills and five blocks. Ashten Stelken (Manchester, Iowa) added 12 kills and five blocks, while Laura Rowen (Hansell, Iowa) had 11 kills and Danielle Brazda (Omaha, Neb.) chipped in with 10. Rowen had her 12th double-double of the season by also recording 13 digs. Freshman libero Ellie Blankenship (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) had 18 digs to lead all players.
UNI hit .376 for the match (58-11-125), its second-best hitting percentage of the season, while holding Bradley to .110 hitting (36-21-136). No Bradley player reached double-digits in kills.
With the win, UNI improves to 15-9 overall, 9-3 in Missouri Valley Conference play, while Bradley falls to 2-23, 1-11 in the Valley. The Panthers are next in action on Friday, Nov. 2 when they host Illinois State at the McLeod Center. First serve is set for 7:00 pm.
