SPRINGFIELD, Mo.--The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team fell 4-0 to Missouri State, Friday. Senior captain Amy Seubert led the UNI offense with three shots.
The Bears were deliberate in their victory and failed to score in the first half. UNI goalkeeper Krista Thorley (Ajax, Ontario/J. Clarke Richardson) tallied six saves in the first period to keep the game at a 0-0 tie at intermission.
The Missouri State offense came to life in the later minutes however, scoring four goals in less than 11 minutes to lead to UNI's undoing. MSU scored in the 65th, 70th, 73rd and 76th minutes to take a 4-0 victory.
The Panthers managed four shots on the night, including three from Seubert (Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka). Laura Heaton (Wheaton, Ill./Warrenville South) took the fourth shot for UNI.
The Panthers fall to 4-8-2 overall and 0-3-1 in the Missouri Valley Conference. Missouri State improves to 5-9-1 on the year and 1-1-1 in the conference.
UNI hosts Indiana State Sunday, Oct. 21 at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex. Game time is at 1 p.m.
