Panthers Beat Evansville, 76-37 and Fell to Southern Illinois, 86-40

The University of Northern Iowa women's swim team won one and lost one today at a double dual with Evansville and Southern Illinois, making their dual meet record 3-7. The Panthers won two of 26 events, but finished in the top three in six events.
The only individual Panther win went to Rachel Robnett (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho/Lake City) in the 100-yard breast. She raced in at 1:11.06. Robnett also claimed fifth in the 200-yard free, behind Ashley Hunter (Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley North).
The other Panther win was the 200-yard free relay including Amanda Firman (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls), Maggie Rickert (Hudson, Iowa/Hudson), Hunter and Erin Danielson (Johnston, Iowa/Johnston). Another Panther team came in third in the same event. This team included Jamie Keefer (Spencer, Iowa/Spencer), Kelly Mateas (Winfield, Ill./Community), Pearl James (Fairfield, Iowa/Fairfield) and Alexa Armstrong (Dubuque, Iowa/Hempstead).
Second-place finishes went to the 200-yard medley relay team including Abby Moes (Sioux City, Iowa/East), Maegan Miller (Olathe, Kan./Olathe), Katie Klinkenborg (Overland Park, Kan./Shawnee Mission East) and Danielson and Abby Girard (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls) in the 100-yard back, 1:01.37.
The Panthers will be back in action Friday (Jan. 19) in the Wellness and Recreation Pool in Cedar Falls, Iowa at 5 p.m.
