Cedar Falls, Iowa - Senior forward Grant Stout (New Sharon, Iowa) and junior center Eric Coleman (Maplewood, Minn.) each had 15 points to lead the University of Northern Iowa men's basketball team to a 70-58 win over Southwest Minnesota State in an exhibition game Sunday afternoon at the West Gym.
Guard Jared Josten (Webster City, Iowa) added 10 points for the Panthers, while Adam Viet (Ackley, Iowa) scored eight off the bench. Coleman had a game-high 12 rebounds for a double-double. UNI shot 49 percent from the field, while holding SMSU to just 39 percent shooting, including 34 percent in the second half.

UNI held a 38-36 advantage with 14:11 left in the game, before freshman Kwadzo Ahelegbe (Oakdale, Minn.) nailed a three-pointer from the left wing. That started an 11-2 run over the next three minutes that saw the Panthers extend their lead to 49-38, effectively sealing the game. The Mustangs didn't get closer than seven points the rest of the way.
