Panthers in Sole Possession of Fourth Place After 6-1 Victory

Cedar Falls - The UNI women's tennis team has claimed sole possession of fourth place in the Missouri Valley Conference after defeating Wichita State this afternoon 6-1 at the Black Hawk Tennis Center. The Panthers improve their record to 15-3 overall and 5-3 in the MVC, while the Shockers fall to 11-11 overall and 5-3 in the MVC.
UNI's Carolina Hannes and Jaime Noyce helped lead the charge for the Panthers. Hannes claimed a 9-8 victory with teammate Agnese Pukse in round two of doubles, while also winning her singles match 6-1, 6-1. Noyce earned an 8-2 victory in the third doubles match, alongside teammate Sara Kendall. Noyce went on to defeat Spink in the third singles match 6-4, 3-6 and 6-2.
The Panthers remain home for the remainder of the weekend, hosting the Bears of Southwest Missouri State tomorrow (April 23rd) at 11 a.m. and the Cyclones of Iowa State Sunday (April 24th), also starting at 11 a.m. Both matches will be played at the Black Hawk Tennis Center.
