The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team fell 4-0 to the Drake Bulldogs this afternoon at the Cownie Soccer Complex. The Panthers were held to six shots and sophomore goalie Heidi O'Mara saw action in the second period for the first time this season after being sidelined due to an injury.
Four separate Bulldogs tallied goals as Drake had two in each period. Bailey Wilberts scored first at the 12:39 minute mark with a shot from thirty yards out and Andrea Schmitz recorded her fourth goal of the season seven minutes later. Sarah Foote and Sinead Brown found the back of the net in the second period. UNI was able to hold Drake scoreless for the final 20 minutes of each period.
The Bulldogs improve to 5-6-1 overall, 2-0 in the MVC. UNI (1-11, 0-1) faces Missouri State for its next game in Springfield, Ill. Saturday (Oct. 8).
