In 1978 Lisa Miller earned the first scholarship for women’s golf at UNI. That would be just one of many firsts for Lisa Miller and her golf career.

In 1994, Miller became the first woman to achieve Class A membership to the Iowa section of the PGA. In 2005, Miller was named a PGA Master Professional, one of just nine women to earn the distinction out of over 25,000 PGA members and apprentices across the country.

Miller then became the first female board member to serve the Iowa Section PGA and is Director of Golf for the four municipal golf courses in Cedar Rapids. She has served as the head PGA Professional Marketing and Merchandising manager for the Cedar Rapids golf courses since 2001.

In 2006 Miller was awarded with the Bill Strausbaugh Award for the Iowa Section PGA and in 2008 earned the Horton Smith Award for the Iowa Section PGA.
