Alex (Cook) Oakland is the all-time leading rebounder in UNI women's basketball history. Cook played for the Panthers and head coach Tony DiCecco from 2001-2005. Cook became the first player in UNI history to record 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. She is one of six MVC players to have achieved the feat with 1,180 points and 1,049 rebounds. Cook recorded a program-best 44 double-doubles in her Panther career. She was a three-time first-team all-Missouri Valley Conference selection (2002-03, 2003-04 and 2004-05). She also earned a spot on the MVC's all-defensive squad in three straight seasons (2002-03, 2003-04 and 2004-05). She still ranks No. 4 in MVC history with 1,049 rebounds.Â
