UNI Women's Basketball Earns WBCA Academic Honors

ATLANTA – For the 11th time in 13 seasons and 15th time since 2002, the UNI women's basketball team earned Women's Basketball Coaches Association Top 25 Honor Roll recognition.
The Panthers earned a combined 3.504 team GPA to rank 25th overall in NCAA Division I.
UNI was led by senior Ellie Howell who finished her career with a 4.0 GPA. She was a three-time MVC All-Academic team member. Taylor Hagen also finished her career with a strong showing. She notched a 3.96 GPA in communications studies.
"I am extremely proud of the consistency in which these young women perform at a high level in the classroom," head coach Tanya Warren said. "It's amazing to think about being in the top 25 in GPA for 11 out of the last 13 years. It says a lot about young women in our program past and present.
The Panthers' highest finish ever was in the 2006-07 season when UNI finished 2nd with a 3.624 team GPA. UNI has 11 top-10 finishes since 2002.
UNI is scheduled to open the season at home against North Dakota State on Nov. 6. Season tickets are on sale now at unipanthers.com/tickets.
