UNI Volleyball Tops Valpo, 3-1

VALPARAISO, Ind. – The UNI Panther volleyball team remains unblemished in Missouri Valley Conference play after topping Valparaiso 25-20, 19-25, 25-21, 25-23.
Piper Thomas put up a season-high 19 kills, including the final one of the match, and notched a .472 attack percentage. The match is her fourth consecutive match with an attack percentage over .400.
Karlie Taylor (13), Kate Busswitz (10) and Jaydlin Seehase (10) all had double-digit kills for UNI while Rachel Koop continues her stellar play with 47 assists. She came into the night with the Valley lead for assists per set at 11.51.
Defensively, the Panthers had double-digit digs from four people including18 each from Taylor and Kendyl Sorge, 14 from Abbi Staack and 12 from Koop.
The Panthers had nine team blocks for the game. Thomas was in on six combo blocks to lead the way.
UNI moves to 10-6 overall and 4-0 in MVC play.

Saturday's match featured two teams that were undefeated in conference play. After the match, UNI, Illinois State and Bradley are without a loss. The Panthers host both teams next week, starting with Illinois State Friday at 7 p.m. and Bradley on Saturday at 7 p.m.
