CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – UNI Director of Athletics David Harris has announced the promotion of Beth West to senior associate athletics director for business.
"Beth is an extremely valuable member of our leadership team," Harris said. "She not only manages our finances on a daily basis, but she also helps to set a strategic direction for the overall financial health of our department. Her intelligence, experience and insight combine to make her an outstanding administrator. I have been very fortunate to have her at my side for the past two years, and I feel confident that our department will have a brighter future ahead because of her presence on our team."
Beth West
West oversees the athletic business office and serves as a liaison to various campus departments regarding athletic financial matters. West is a member of CABMA (College Athletic Business Management Association) and has been a member of ISCPA (Iowa Society of CPAs). West added oversight of the UNI athletic equipment room starting the 2016-17 academic year.
"I'm thankful for David's continued trust and guidance in this role," said West. "His leadership and vision for UNI Athletics is exciting, and I'm grateful to be able to support our staff, coaches and student-athletes.
West joined the UNI staff as an assistant athletic director in the business office December 2014. She was promoted to associate athletic director for business July 2015.
A UNI graduate and former Panther volleyball standout, West came to work at UNI after having served as an audit senior at Ernst & Young (EY) in Des Moines, Iowa. She performed audits for national and regional clients in the life, property and casualty and dental insurance industries. She also coordinated, supervised, coached and completed performance reviews of staff and interns at EY. West joined the EY audit staff in September 2011.
West returned to her alma mater, where she competed as a student-athlete for the UNI volleyball team from 2006-2010. West earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors and was a first-team all-Missouri Valley Conference performer in 2010. She was UNI's candidate for NCAA Woman of the Year in 2011.
In the fall of 2012, West became a certified public accountant by the Iowa Accountancy Examining Board.
The Grimes, Iowa, native earned her bachelor's (accounting, 2010) and master's (accounting, 2011) at UNI. She garnered a spot on the UNI Dean's List in eight different semesters.
West and her husband, Jonathan, live in Cedar Falls.
