Panthers Tennis Finishes Action at Gopher Invite

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.—The University of Northern Iowa's women's tennis team won three singles finals on the final day of the Gopher Invite.

Olivia Fain defeated Iowa State's Karen Alvarez 6-2, 6-4 in the Flight G singles.

Daisy Phillips defeated Elizabeth Gould of Nebraska 6-1, 6-3 in the Flight singles.

In the Flight C Yellow bracket, Claudia Toledo prevailed over Preethi Kasilingam of North Dakota 6-2, 6-2.

Valentina Caro went the distance in her match against Zahra Finnigan of North Dakota, falling 7-6, 3-6, 6-1.

The Panthers will be back in action at the MVC Individual Championships, Oct. 5-7 at Missouri State.
