Panthers to Compete for Titles at Drake Invite

DES MOINES, Iowa—Multiple Panthers will play for titles in the final round of the Drake Invitational. Play will resume at 9 a.m tomorrow.
Daisy Phillips defeated fellow Panther Olivia Fain to move onto the championship match of the B Flight in the consolation bracket.
Claudia Toledo and Reghan Lynch will meet each other for the A Flight consolation bracket to determine the winner.
Valentina Caro will play for the C Flight consolation bracket title, after receiving a second-match bye in the semifinals.
Fain will compete for third place in the B Flight of the consolation bracket.
Morganne Borsh will compete in the D Flight for third place tomorrow.
Harri Proudfoot and Caro will meet Lazarevic/Kmoskova of South Dakota in the semifinals match of the consolation bracket for the A Flight.
Singles Results Day 2
In the winners' bracket of the C Flight, Phillips defeated Julia Aguirre of Creighton 6-1, 6-3. Phillips would defeated fellow Panther Fain in the next match in three sets 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 to move onto the finals of the B Flight.
Fain defeated Luana Stanciu of South Dakota 7-5, 6-4. Fain will play for third place against Meredith Benson of Creighton tomorrow at 10 a.m.
Borsh would be defeated by Deimante Krivickaite of Upper Iowa 6-2, 7-5 in the D Flight. Borsh will play Justine Linscott of Nebraska-Omaha for third place in the winners' bracket.
Toledo won both her matches today in the consolation bracket of the A Flight. Toledo defeated Absisan of Nebraska-Omaha 6-2, 6-4. Toledo defeated Michaele Henne of Creighton 6-3, 6-0 to move to the semi-finals in the consolation bracket.
Lynch received a first-match bye in the second round of the A Flight in the consolation bracket. Lynch defeated Natalie Kmoskova of South Dakota, 6-3, 6-3.
Caro defeated Rylee Tucker of Nebraska-Omaha in three sets 6-0, 1-6, 10-4. Caro received a bye in her second match of the day and will play Taylor Jackson of Augustana (SD) for the C Flight consolation bracket title.
Proudfoot was defeated by Kenya Williams of Drake in the B Flight winners bracket 7-6 (7), 6-1.
Doubles Results Day 2
Proudfoot/Caro received a first-match bye in the consolation bracket before meeting Gilmore/Storm of Missouri Western State. The Panthers would win the match 8-1.
Lynch/Toledo received a first-match bye in the consolation bracket. They were defeated by Lazarevic/Kmoskova of South Dakota 8-5.
