Panthers Rising: A Strategic Plan to Achieve Unprecedented Success

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – UNI Director of Athletics David Harris has announced the implementation of Panthers Rising, a five-year strategic plan to bring UNI Athletics to unprecedented levels of success in academics, competition and in all of its endeavors.
This strategic plan is the first in the history of UNI Athletics and focuses on giving Panther student-athletes everything they need to succeed athletically, academically and in their future careers.
Panthers Rising has clear objectives to achieve. Those goals will be reached by focusing on the core values of academic excellence, community engagement, competitive excellence, diversity and inclusion, financial accountability, integrity and a focus on the student-athlete experience.
"We have tremendous student-athletes here at UNI," Harris said. "They do amazing things under the pressures that they face every day. We want to make sure that we are doing everything that we can do to help them be at their best. We also want to help UNI Athletics strive to be a more integral part of our campus and the community and we are committed to achieving our goals in a fiscally responsible way."
The plan was developed over the last 12 months with input from constituents around athletics, campus and the community.
Panthers Rising has six goals with metrics inside of each category.
1) Academic Excellence
2) Community Engagement
3) Competitive Excellence
4) Diversity and Inclusion
5) Facility Enhancement
6) Financial accountability
