"We are excited to welcome Jonathan to UNI and to the Cedar Valley community," said Nathan Christensen, associate athletics director for external affairs. "We could not be happier to have Jonathan leading our athletic marketing department and being an integral member of our external team. He has a proven track record or increasing revenue, attendance and awareness for athletics. Jonathan will be a valuable asset for Panther Athletics."
Treiber joins UNI after three years as South Dakota State's director of marketing. He joined the Jackrabbit staff in August 2015 after spending one year as a graduate assistant and four years as an intern for the marketing and promotions department.
"I couldn't be more excited to join the Northern Iowa family," Treiber said. "They made me feel at home right when I stepped on campus. I am looking forward to building on our marketing efforts and moving the department forward."
At SDSU, Treiber responsibilities included the creation and implementation of the marketing and promotions schedules, as well as increasing overall brand awareness. He also oversaw the marketing budget, student group and kids club.
Originally from Beresford, South Dakota, Treiber graduated from SDSU with a bachelor's degree in advertising, with an emphasis in public relations emphasis and a minor in marketing. He completed his master's degree in sport and recreation studies in May 2016.
