Paradise Jam Bracket Revealed; UNI vs. Penn

ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands – Game matchups and start times for the 2018 U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam were released Thursday, tournament director announced. The announcement includes matchups and official tipoff times for all 24 games of the men's and women's tournaments at the 19th annual Paradise Jam, held Nov. 16-24, 2018 at the University of the Virgin Islands' Sports and Fitness Center in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. All games for the upcoming 2018 U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam will stream online at FloHoops.com.

The men's Paradise Jam will tip off Friday, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. AST (1 p.m. EST) as the Oregon State Beavers face the Old Dominion Monarchs. Kennesaw State and Missouri will face off at 4 p.m., followed by Northern Iowa and Penn at 6:30 p.m. The opening round concludes with an 8:30 p.m. tipoff between Eastern Kentucky and Kansas State.

Losing teams will compete in their second game the following day, Saturday, Nov. 17 with tipoffs scheduled at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Winning teams will have a one-day respite, before facing off in the semifinals, Sunday, Nov. 18. The first semifinal will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by the second semifinal at 8:30 p.m. All teams will return to the UVI Sports and Fitness Center, Monday for the championship round. The seventh-place game will open the final day of competition at 2 p.m., followed by the fourth-place game at 4 p.m., third-place game at 6:30 p.m., and championship game to crown the 2018 men's Paradise Jam champion at 8:30 p.m.

The women's tournaments will take place Thursday, Nov. 22 through Saturday, Nov. 24 with four games each day. The women's tournaments feature two four-team divisions competing in round-robin play for separate tournament championships.

Kentucky, North Carolina, South Florida, and UCLA will compete in the Paradise Jam Island Division with daily tipoffs at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Ole Miss, Purdue, St. John's, and UConn will compete in the Paradise Jam Reef Division with tipoffs at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

The 2018 Paradise Jam features eight alumni teams, including four past Paradise Jam champions. Four men's teams, including Eastern Kentucky, Kansas State, Northern Iowa, and Old Dominion, have previously competed at the Paradise Jam. Four women's teams, including Kentucky, Purdue, South Florida, and UConn, have each previously competed in the Paradise Jam.

Tournament directors are in the process of evaluating the feasibility of offering official fan travel packages for the 2018 Paradise Jam. More information will be made available in the future.
