NEWTON, Kansas - The University of Northern Iowa women's golf team is tied for seventh place following the opening 18 holes at the 2018 Missouri Valley Conference Championship.
UNI is ahead of Valparaiso and Evansville, but tied with Bradley as both teams shot identical team scores of (320).
Both Emily Snelling and Sarah McMichael are knotted up at 20th place overall after stroking 7-over (79) on day one. The duo combined for four birdies on the day.
Senior Maddie Bertsch finished the afternoon 8-over (80), placing her tied for 27th.
Hannah Bermel and Paige Van Dyk are currently tied for 33rd and 42nd place overall. Bermel shot 10-over (82) on the day, while Van Dyk finished 13-over (85). Both golfers notched a pair of birdies in the opening round.
The Panthers will play round two tomorrow, beginning at 10:40 A.M.
